World Horse Welfare’s Penny Farm near Blackpool is urging people to recycle their old mobiles this Christmas to help raise money for the charity.

The Rescue and Rehoming Centre has a recycling point for people to bring in any unwanted phones they may have left over after the festive period.

Zoe Clifford, Visitor Centre Officer at Penny Farm, said: “Lots of people will get a new phone for Christmas and bringing us your old phone is an easy way for you to help us without it costing you a penny.

“We have managed to raise thousands of pounds in the past through recycling people’s old phones, and as we are helping more and more needy horses each year donations are vital.

“We would also like to thank everyone for all of their support throughout 2011 which has been a special year as we have celebrated our 10th anniversary.”

If you would like to recycle your old mobile phone, please visit Penny Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre near Blackpool, Lancashire between 10am and 4pm any Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday.

Please note that Penny Farm is closed between Wednesday 21 December 2011 and Monday 3 January 2012.
