We are being offered an incredible role at this time. There is such a connection between human and animal. In fact, this connection is much deeper than most people realize and can be scientifically proven.
Traditional and conventional practitioners are beginning to understand and appreciate the use of holistic and alternative care when treating animals and humans. Compare healthcare to the tree - with its roots below and the branches above. Nourish the roots (basic nutrition, exercise and immunity), the earth that supports it (environment and love) and the branches will bear the fruits of health and well being (a healthy, well-adjusted body).
How are we so connected, the human and animal?
In 1980, Cleve Baxter conducted experiments to discover the nature of the human cell and cellular memory. Using the ordinary chicken egg to study galvanic tissue response to electrical current, he made an amazing discovery. He inserted two silver wire electrodes into the egg and began graphing the cellular activity.
Deciding to eat lunch while watching the graph, he took three eggs from the same carton and dropped them into boiling water. The graphing pen went wild. Was there a connection between the eggs on a cellular level of consciousness?
His experiments with yogurt containing live bacteria proved that the bacteria responded to his mental picture of mixing strong acid into the yogurt to kill the bacteria. The graphing pen would always react as soon as he focused his mental picture of destroying the bacteria.
Baxter continued scientific experiments for many years proving that there exists a connection on a cellular level of all life forms from the simplest bacteria to the most complex of all, the human.
He proved that on a cellular level our consciousness is more developed and in tune with other living matter.
Does this answer the riddle of the dog that seems to be joined at your hip until the day you've scheduled him to be neutered? How can a 125 pound Rottweiler hide under the bed which has a height of maybe 6 inches off the floor on that day of the vet appointment? Or do you have a horse that follows you like the precious pet he is, only to disappear to parts unknown as soon as the day the vet is coming.
In the 1950's a study was done with a specific species of monkey that lived on an island. To keep the monkeys localized, they were left whole coconuts on the beach every day. Shortly, they noticed that one of the monkeys began to wash his coconut. Others began to wash their coconuts. Not too incredible.
Except that on other islands across the Pacific range, other groups of the same species that were not being tested, began to come to the beach and wash their coconuts even though some were hundreds of miles away and had never been in contact.
On a cellular level your thoughts are projected. Within species and interspecies we find proof that there is a connection where thoughts, feelings and emotions are exchanged.
Could this explain why we are so closely intertwined with animals and the environment? Because without even knowing it, we are sending signals constantly. With this information, we can form a totally new and much more rewarding alliance with all animals and across all barriers.
As therapists and healers, can we share the importance of this relationship within our communities. Can we then communicate love to the animals of this planet and the environment itself? Can we create a new earth and the species that it supports by changing our thoughts or directing our thoughts to healing the planet and our animal allies? We are in the incredible role of teachers and healers and can make a difference.
