Gloucester Lodge Farm at Blyth held it's third show on 22nd August 2010. The weather was great - warm and sunny, and it was well attended by spectators and competitors alike.
For those who didn't compete there was lots to see - the events of course, but also a variety of stalls including horse equipment, feed and suppliments, hot dogs and burgers etc, artists displaying their talents (equine and canine artists) and a guinnea pig rescue. There was also a falconry centre which brought some of its birds and talked to the vistors educating them and allowing the public to handle the birds later in the day.
For the competitors there were a wide range of events from in hand to show jumping and everything in between. The organisation of these was very good - there was always something going on and the classes in each of the 5 or 6 generous arenas followed each other seamlessly.
The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and it was a great day out for competitors and families wanting to do something different over the summer holidays.
HorseEvents would recommend you stopping off at one of Gloucester Lodge's Shows at Blyth (just above Seaton Sluice beech) if you are passing - everyone is welcome and it is a great family day out.
Their next show is scheduled for 12th September 2010
